With its LT-32 DP9, JVC offers an "HD ready" LCD flat-panel TV with an integrated DVB-T tuner and three HDMI inputs. Image enhancement settings aim to provide a new viewing experience. The JVC LT-32 DP9 offers decent colors and consistent contrast, but its dependence on viewing angle and the lack of PC compatibility are drawbacks. We also found problems with HDTV playback. While not major for the average person, experienced viewers may have issues with these weaknesses.

Features
We liked that the JVC LT-32 DP9 has three HDMI sockets. Unfortunately these stick out to the side somewhat, making it difficult to stand the set on a shelf. Along with a built-in DVB-T receiver and two Scart sockets, the set also features a YUV connection and USB input. A swivel stand comes as standard equipment.
Operation
Remote Control and Channel Changing:
While the remote control is decent overall, it is not very attractive, and too many important buttons are tightly packed together. Channel changing time - 1.5 seconds - is within normal limits.
TV and DVD Picture Quality
Make sure you adjust the picture yourself in user mode - the presets cannot be edited. The TV's factory setup activates several picture-enhancing settings resulting in a cold, flat picture. Our recommendation for perfect setup can be found below.
With analog TV reception, the detail-rich picture shows very few false edges, although some edges are occasionally over-enhanced. Scrolling text displays well, and overall the TV picture is clear. The digital TV picture is also satisfactory.
Slight false edging shows during DVD playback in 576i/p format, otherwise the picture remains sharp and detailed. Playback in 1080p is crisp and almost completely free of false edges.
HDTV Picture Quality
The JVC LT-32 DP9 plays back sharp HD material from Blu-ray, although not in full HD. Inputting a signal in the original movie format, 24p, offers no advantages, and the picture suffers from slight judder.
The color edge enhancement generally looks good but can cause some slight disturbances with intense patterns. This effect can clearly be seen, for example, with the diamonds on the playing cards in the James Bond movie "Casino Royale".
Computer Operation and Sound Quality
Computer Operation:
The JVC LT-32 DP9 lacks a VGA input, so a PC can only be connected by HDMI. There is also some overscan at all resolutions, so you'll never get a pixel-perfect screen, the basis for this JVC's very low scores for PC compatibility.
Sound Quality:
The set has powerful and clear sound. But be careful! The JVC LT-32 DP9 reaches an extremely high volume even at low settings. Also, the midrange sounds are slightly discolored.
