With two new widescreen models, the E2220HD and E2420HD, BenQ hopes to attract not only office users, but also fans of games, movies, and multimedia.

August 5, 2009 - In September this year, BenQ will introduce two new 16:9-format widescreen displays: the 22-inch E2220HD and the 24-inch E2420HD. The glossy black monitors with silver frames claim to display Full HD resolution, and should therefore also be interesting to users that are looking for more than just an office display.

In its press release, the Taiwanese company emphasizes the presence of two HDMI 1.3 interfaces as well as a DVI connection. These, BenQ claims, will provide uncompromised viewing pleasure from HD source devices.

Target Group and Pricing:

BenQ is clearly aiming for multimedia, Blu-ray, and games-console fans, as well as buyers that are simply looking for a second monitor.

The company hasn't yet announced pricing and exact availability for the United Kingdom, but in Europe the 22-incher will cost 199 Euros (around 170 GBP), the 24-incher 329 Euros (280 GBP). Incidentally, LG recently announced similar displays.
