To coincide with the IFA consumer-electronics trade fair, Japanese firm JVC is presenting its newest gadgets. Especially interesting: a seven-millimeter-thick (!), all-purpose screen, the LT-32WX50.

August 7, 2009 - At this year's IFA, JVC presents the first representative of a new generation of super-flat screens: The 32-inch LT-32WX50 is due to hit the market in October for around 1,900 GBP.

With a depth of just seven millimeters, and weighing just five kilograms, this Full HD display not only sets impressive benchmarks - according to JVC, it also opens up new possibilities for the home, business, and information markets.

Ultra-flat, ultra-light, and ultra-stylish: JVC's new do-it-all, the LT-32WX50, will be doing business from October onwards.

The new ultra-thin LCD screen can hang on the wall like a picture, stand freely in the middle of the room, or integrate into an information panel, the Japanese company adds. This flexibility, they say, makes the JVC a universally deployable ‘lifestyle monitor'. In addition, the LED-backlight technology is supposed both to save energy and to provide especially vivid contrast.
