New Grundig Vision 9 37-9980, 9 42-9980, and 9 47-9980 T USB TVs
Grundig's top LCD models in the Vision 9 series will soon have new 200-hertz technology on board, the German electronics manufacturer announces to coincide with this year's IFA.
August 14, 2009 - Grundig has joined the 200-hertz club: The new models in its LCD TV series "Vision 9", available in 37-, 42-, and 47-inch sizes, will apply the new motion-clarity-enhancing technology at a frame rate of 200 hertz, the German company announced.
In combination with the screens' Full HD resolution, says Grundig, this is supposed to provide a stunning picture that remains crisp even during fast camera pans and high-speed sporting action.

Now with 200 hertz: Grundig's reworked Vision 9 series.
The series will, like the one before it, have a built-in "sound projector". This speaker bar hangs below the screen and simulates three-dimensional sound using 16 mini speakers, without the need for additional amplifiers. The subwoofer emits sound backwards from its spot on the rear of the unit. A covered cable channel is supposed to stop connections getting in the way of the picture and spoiling the overall look of the TV.
Other Vision 9 highlights include a "Movie Mode" for judder-free 24p playback and a built-in DVB-T tuner, complete with CI slot. Grundig has only announced pricing for the German market, but we can expect closely related devices - with similar pricing - to appear in other markets in the near future.
As it stands, the 37-inch model (Vision 9 37-9980 T USB) is priced at around 1,400 GBP, the 42-inch (Vision 9 42-9980 T USB) at around 1,600 GBP, and the 47-inch (Vision 9 47-9980 T USB) at around 1,900 GBP.
