New Mitsubishi HC3800 projector
Next month, Mitsubishi plans to release a new Full HD projector: The HC3800 is expected to impress with low pricing.
October 19, 2009 — Available from November, Mitsubishi’s new HC3800 projector looks set to carry an impressively low price tag. In Europe, the device is expected to go on sale for less than 1,400 Euros (1,300 GBP) — and that’s for a Full HD model!
But that’s not the only persuasive feature; according to the manufacturer, the HC3800’s DLP technology promises to conjure up outstanding black levels even without using special iris modifications. Mitsubishi explains that the DMD chip’s smaller reflective area should eliminate scattered light almost completely.

On sale from November: the Mitsubishi HC3800.
Other tantalizing features include a specified lamp lifetime of 5,000 hours and a contrast ratio of 3,300:1. Combined with the quoted brightness of 1,300 ANSI lumens, this lays the foundations for a top movie experience. Only laboratory testing, however, will tell whether the Mitsubishi lives up to its word.
