 JVC DLA-HD550 and HD950: Two new D-ILA home-theater projectors

JVC DLA-HD550 and HD950: Two new D-ILA home-theater projectors

by Televisions.com Germany on 10/08/2009

With two new luxury-class projectors, JVC aims to underline once again the potential of D-ILA technology. But this Full-HD fun is anything but cheap; the DLA-HD550 and DLA-HD950 look set to cost 4,000 and 6,000 GBP respectively.

October 9, 2009 — On sale now, the two models provide increased contrast ratios of 30,000:1 (DLA-HD550) and 50,000:1 (DLA-HD950), according to Japanese company JVC. Thanks to D-ILA technology, the projectors have been able to do without a dynamic iris; the use of D-ILA also explains these massive contrast values, and light outputs of 900 and 1,000 lumens should mean the two new models are suitable for big-screen pictures in large rooms. With features like this, JVC claims, the devices are predestined for the most demanding home-theater applications.
