InFocus: New SP8602 home-theater projector with Full HD
InFocus plans to introduce a new DLP projector — the SP8602 — in November this year. The new model will, the company says, be especially well suited to the home theater, extremely easy to use, and available in various colors.
October 9, 2009 — Available from November, the SP8602 will mark the continuation of InFocus’ ScreenPlay series. As well as offering DLP DarkChip technology with BrilliantColor, and 1080p resolution (1,920 x 1,080 pixels), the SP8602 will, the manufacturer claims, provide a contrast ratio of 25,000:1, high-performance optics, and the latest HD connectivity.
All in all, say InFocus, these will mean it can display high-definition pictures in vivid color, with outstanding depth and impressive detail. The 120-hertz mode is supposed to make transitions more fluid between individual images.

Available in a choice of outfits: the InFocus SP8602 — seen here in black.
Furthermore, the SP8602 comes in a choice of interchangeable “skins”, giving customers versatility in terms of design — the projector needn’t stick out like a sore thumb on your ceiling, thanks to matt-white, glossy black, and walnut brown finishes. There’s even a “primer” option that allows buyers to add a chosen color themselves. The projector will also provide versatile positioning with its electronic trapeze correction and horizontal and vertical lens-shift. Pricing isn’t yet known for the U.K. market.
