BenQ’s MP575 budget DLP projector
Within the month, BenQ plans to release the new MP575 DLP projector; but the relatively low resolution means this cut-price model is primarily suited to office use.
October 9, 2009 — A new DLP projector for under 1,000 GBP? Bargain! But don’t expect home-theater in Full HD — the BenQ MP575’s XGA resolution (1,024 x 768 pixels) isn’t particularly suitable for enjoying movies. Still, it’ll be great in the office, where fast and reliable performance takes precedence over optimum picture quality.

Ideally suited to office use: the BenQ MP575.
According to the manufacturer, the MP575 has a light output of 3,000 ANSI lumens, a maximum contrast of 2,600:1, and a lifetime of up to 4,000 hours in eco mode. Furthermore, the new “all-rounder”, with its 3,000-ANSI-lumen output is supposed to guarantee excellent picture quality even in locations with bright ambient illumination — in offices, for example.
The Taiwanese company also emphasizes the device’s low power consumption of less than one watt in standby mode, as well as the low weight of the projector, which weighs just 2.3 kilograms. Precise pricing for the United Kingdom hasn’t yet been announced.
