Although the follow-up models (DMP-BD65 and DMP-BD85) are already on the market, Panasonic has released new firmware for the BD60 and BD80. The improvements relate mostly to VIERA Cast.
April 16, 2010 — Owners of Panasonic’s DMP-BD60 and DMP-BD80 Blu-ray players now have access to a new firmware update which is expected to focus primarily on the players’ VIERA Cast functionality. You can download the new firmware for the BD60 here and the BD80 here. The update is also supposed to improve the players’ Blu-ray playback, but Panasonic is tight-lipped about what exactly has been optimised.

The BD60 will see improved Blu-ray playback and faster internet access in firmware version 2.3.
