Never before has a western looked this good!

The bleak landscape of the western United States displays vividly and in high detail. Close-up shots clearly resolve every strand of beard and every bead of sweat, but some darker scenes could have been more detail-rich.

SOUND QUALITY:
The movie’s sound is also top-class: Thanks to Dolby TrueHD and impressive effects, such as the sound of horses galloping or gunshots ricocheting, the living room takes on the feeling of a western saloon. Whiskey, anyone?

BONUS MATERIAL:
Average. A not-very-exciting audio commentary is joined by similarly mediocre ‘making of’ (20:02) and featurettes on the music (8:04), guns (5:57), and railroad (20:25). There’s also a short interview (6:13) with the movie’s author, Elmore Leonard. Also on board: picture-in-picture material, storyboards, and pages from the screenplay.
