Blu-ray Movie Review
Movie: A movie without words - just be silent and enjoy! Produced in 1992, "Baraka" captures the beauty of nature and leads us on a tour of breathtakingly beautiful locations around the world. Ron Fricke also takes the viewers to the big cities, perfectly capturing their hectic goings-on - often using spectacular time-lapse sequences.

Televisions.com thinks:
A must-see - not least because of the outstanding
picture quality and excellent score.

PICTURE QUALITY:
The best picture we've ever watched! A computer-controlled, 65-mm camera was used to film this unique documentary, faithfully depicting every last morsel of detail. Thanks to the world's first 8K-transfer and an extremely laborious postproduction process, "Baraka" sets new standards in picture quality - edges are incredibly crisp, scenes show incredible detail! The plasticity, too, is phenomenal - many objects feel close enough to touch, as if you're actually standing right in front of them. An intoxicating feast for the senses!

SOUND QUALITY:
The sound doesn't shine quite as brightly as the picture, but is nevertheless excellent. The music - from, among others, Dead Can Dance - always suits the imagery perfectly, forming a single atmospheric entity.

BONUS MATERIAL:
A 76-minute ‘making of' recounts numerous background stories and anecdotes, while "Restoration" (7:04) deals with the 8K-transfer of the film negative.
