Televisions.com thinks:
Despite its advanced years,
still recommended viewing.

PICTURE QUALITY:
Astonishing, thanks to a new master. The reconditioned picture is totally free of defects — it’s detailed, sharp, and stable. It’s hard to believe this movie is 50 years old.

SOUND QUALITY:
Nowhere near as good as the picture quality. Tchaikovsky’s ballet “The Sleeping Beauty” sounds more tin-can than HD. At least the few sound effects are precisely positioned.

BONUS MATERIAL:
Sensational! A superb mix of fun for the kids and informative content for grownups — too much, in fact, to list it all here. Besides production and restoration featurettes and a rather average ‘making of’ (43:32), there’s a report on Tchaikovsky (49:25), additional songs (12:10), scene analyses (5:30), and the supporting movie “Grand Canyon” (1959) in HD (28:55), as well as music videos and picture galleries.
