The 3D hype gets another top-up this weekend with the release of “Clash of the Titans”, a remake of the 1981 fantasy film. But doubts surround the quality of the film’s 3D conversion.

April 2, 2010 — Following the success of films such as “Avatar” and “Alice in Wonderland”, another 3D film hits UK cinemas this weekend. “Clash of the Titans” is a 2010 remake of the 1981 film of the same name, and had its release delayed by a week so that it could be converted from 2D into 3D. Earlier this week, however, James Cameron, the director of “Avatar”, voiced concerns over the quality of such 3D conversions, according to ABC News. Whether “Clash of the Titans” will fall victim to poor conversion quality remains to be seen. Cameron is said to be worried that, if the quality of such films fails to impress, the public’s fascination with 3D may become unstuck.
