Avatar Blu-ray release on April 26

It’s official: The 2D Blu-ray version of “Avatar” will be released in the UK on April 26. The film’s distributor, Fox Home Entertainment, is reported to have confirmed the date published by online retailers.
March 17, 2010 — An end to the mystery: “Avatar” will appear in 2D on Blu-ray and DVD on April 26, even though the film, which is the most successful of all time, is still showing in cinemas. Unfortunately, there’ll be no extras at all on the discs, and the 3D version isn’t expected for a few months yet — James Cameron has hinted at a November release date for the US, so we can probably expect it before Christmas in the UK. Still, many “Avatar” fans will be looking forward to April 26, when one of the Blu-rays released will be a collector’s edition offering four lenticular cards and a small book relating to the film.
